Call to support research projects on the social impact of Climate Change (FS23-2B)

The Social Observatory of the ”la Caixa” Foundation is opening a new call to support research projects in the social sciences in which data are used from quantitative surveys on the social impact of Climate Change, in  Portugal.

WE ARE SEEKING:
 

  • Research projects that are original and have a quantitative base, on issues of special relevance in the current socioeconomic context.

  • This call aims to provide impetus for the generation of solid knowledge that will help to throw new light on the social impact of climate change in Spain.

  • Proposals that study any variable, component, dynamics, or social phenomenon related with climate change, from any discipline belonging to the social sciences, will be of interest.

  • Two specific perspectives on this issue will be excluded from this call:

    • Evaluation of public policies, on any scale.

    • Issues related with urbanism or urban design.

 

WE ARE OFFERING:
 

  • A maximum grant of 30,000 euros per project, including all taxes and indirect expenses.


 

WE REQUEST:
 

  • That the university or research centre receiving the grant must sign a research agreement with the ”la Caixa” Foundation.

  • The research must be conducted within 12 months from the date that the grant is awarded.

  • Quantitative surveys must be contracted out as a professional service and comply with all methodological guarantees. 

 

WHO CAN APPLY:
 

  • The call is open to proposals led by researchers of any nationality who conduct their activity at universities, research centres or private non-profit organisations dedicated to research and based in Portugal.

 

CALENDAR:
 

  • Submission deadline: proposals can be submitted until 13h00 p.m. (UTC) on 13 October 2023.

  • Proposals must be submitted  via the online platform available for this purpose (http://grants.lacaixafoundation.org/). Applications received via other channels will not be accepted. 

  • The resolution of calls will be published on the Social Observatory website approximately 8 weeks after the applications deadline date. Prior to publication, those candidates selected will be notified by email.
